PARISH OF SOUTH CADBURY AND SUTTON MONTIS Councillor Vacancy

If you are interested in contributing, representing and making a change in your local community this is a great opportunity to become involved with the decision making for the local parishes to help steer, shape and protect the villages for future generations. The Parish Council has ONE vacancy to fill by co-option and needs your experience, energy, passion and enthusiasm.

To fit around work and family commitments the Parish Council meets bi-monthly in Sutton Montis Village Hall at 7.30 pm. Additional meetings are occasionally convened as required to discuss ad hoc planning applications or urgent matters arising.

To be able to stand as a candidate at a parish or town council election, you must:

- Be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, a qualifying EU citizen or an EU citizen with retained rights.

- Be 18 years of age or older.

Meet at least one of the following three qualifications:

- You are and will continue to be, registered as a local government elector for the parish you wish to attend from the day of your nomination onwards.

- - You have occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the parish area during the 12 months before the day of your nomination and the day of the election.

Your principal or only place of work during the 12 months before your nomination and the day of the election has been in the parish area.
