Could this be the year you change a child’s life?

Fostering isn’t just about opening your home, it’s about opening your heart and giving a local child stability, support, and hope for the future. If you’ve ever thought, “I want to do something meaningful this year”, fostering could provide that step towards making a difference in your local community. You don’t need to foster full-time, and you don’t need to be perfect, just willing to care.

What do you need to foster?

  • No previous experience required
  • Aged 21 or over
  • A spare room in your home
  • No offences against children

We provide full training and ongoing support, including a dedicated Supervising Social worker to support you on your fostering journey, and weekly payments to support you financially.

Fostering doesn’t have to be a full-time role either. There are many options to suit your lifestyle and commitments, as well as the needs of our children, from occasional weekend care to long-term fostering, or even supporting a parent and their young child.

Join us for an information session

If you’d like to know more, our free ‘Cuppa with a Foster Carer’ events provide a valuable opportunity to gain a realistic insight into the role, by chatting to local carers over coffee and a slice of cake (provided by us). You’ll find a list of all the upcoming events online at www.fosteringinsomerset.org.uk/events
